I'd say the same to the people. But I'll add by saying that don't get manipulated by the Army as well. Both institutions are corrupt of the same magnitude. My apologies to the men of dignity and honor in both institutions, but the bigger lot is definitely crooked. Army is by far the most corrupt of all, and with generals like Parvaiz Musharraf, we now find ourselves in amidst of a civil-war-like crisis. Army killing (and responsible for the killing of) the civilians (the so-called militants) in all corners of the country.
The only glimpse of progress that we see in the country is just because Musharraf government full of hypocrite and fundamentalist politicians and sickening generals and lawman has been given scraps due to the role it's playing in war against terror by killing Pakistanis and other Muslims inside and outside the country.
Why are we so threatened of Police? By the way, my motorbike was stolen last week and I know that the chances of recovery are almost none, but still I would never say that Police or any other institution in beloved homeland is as dangerous and threatening as the Army! It's right time that the Army is shown their rightful place OUTSIDE the cities, and on borders and out in the open under the sun protecting people, not hiding, installing surveillance cameras, and being scared to hell of unarmed civillians that they were supposed to be protecting in the first place.
Never before has the image of Army so affected. Musharraf, you really need to step down! We should make sure somehow that Army never ever interferes with how the country's run! Men of influence should make sure that no coward with a gun attached to this belt can step up and take over the country whenever he pleases.
About the presidential elections, Musharraf can never win a referendum, an election without imposing power. The power given to him by the people. We all know how government employees were forcefully stuffed into government vehicles and rushed to the place of referendum when Parvaiz Musharraf staged this drama for the first time, and I'm sure that it's going to be no different this time!
Musharraf, come out on the streets, leave your armored cars, your surveillance systems, your body guards, your guns... take a walk on the roads being just a person... see how many people don't even want you walking on the Pakistani streets, breathing in the Pakistani air let alone have anything to do with how the country's run! Your only supporters are the people who are selfish to their core and are with you for their dark personal gains (like the Chaudhys of Gujrat), and people who are scared shit of Islam or anything Muslim. People who want discos all around the country, and the people who want supreme vulgarity as a common thing are your only supporters. You have nothing to do with Islam, and you have absolutely nothing to do with Quaid-e-Azam whose image you put so shamelessly next to your in your publicity ads. Stop using Quaid's pictures next to yours!!
And please stop using the title President! You are a General, and even that's not going to stay with you for life. You are going to live in the same country among the same people whose kids have been killed in madrassas all around the country for one reason or the other! What do you think future holds for you? Be a General as long as you can, and stop the Presidency nonsense or anything else to have anything to do with the people, because if it really was up to the people, we all know how things would be like by now!
Things are heating up all around. No would in his right mind would want Musharraf to have a position of President. I request all Pakistanis to make sure that we get rid of Army's involvement in Pakistan's government and make Pakistan a real democracy for once!
I have poison running in my veins right now but I also was one of the Pakistani kids who grew up wishing and dreaming only to serve in the army, who took great pride in what their brave soldiers were capable of, and who had huge self-esteem because of the men in the uniform that protected their country. Growing up, however, showed a totally different picture!! The feeling of betrayal and manipulation, and the pain of shattered dreams is the governing reason for growing pains and blossoming hatred! Get down from the chair!!
